Natural Zeolite Clinoptilolite for Golf Course Use

Applications

Golf Courses
Recommended Product:  Grade A

In addition   to the information provided under our soil amendment category thatZeolite Clinoptilolite - Since Safetysorb™ Zeolite is pale green in color unlike many other zeolites that are white, it visually blends into lawns, golf greens and tees and is more pleasing than white material. is applicable to this area, we provide the following information for golf courses.  The hard crystalline characteristic of Safetysorb™ Zeolite helps prevent compaction, increases infiltration and helps the aeration of deep root systems.

Since Safetysorb™ Zeolite is pale green in color unlike many other zeolites that are white, it visually blends into lawns, golf greens and tees and is more pleasing than white material.

Application: For the construction of new golf course greens and tees, lawns, gardens, or for sandy soils replace 10 to 20 % of the sand with an equal volume of Safetysorb™ Zeolite.  This should be applied in the top 2 to 4 inches. For top dressing, approximately 30 to 60 pounds should be applied per 1,000 square feet or 1,200 to 2,500 pounds per acre. To enhance aerification after plugging, apply 60 to 150 pounds per 1,000 square feet or 2,500 to 6,500 pounds per acre.

Zeolite Clinoptilolite - Safetysorb™ Zeolite is introducing a new product primarily designed for golf course greens and turf applications, but one which will also be of benefit for most plant growing agricultural applications. Zeolite is introducing a new product primarily designed for golf course greens and turf applications, but one which will also be of benefit for most plant growing agricultural applications. The product is Grade A “Plus”. The “Plus” is for the fortification of Grade A with Nitrogen. Now, instead of having to dry mix fertilizer with zeolite, or performing a separate function of spreading zeolite and then spreading fertilizer, which means more time and cost to the user, we are pre-loading the zeolite with nitrogen which is much more efficient. Though consumers have repeatedly requested this, no one in the United States or Canada has ever provided a preloaded product with this capability. Grade A “Plus” will be loaded with 3% nitrogen which will exchange with the zeolite crystalline structure for long term plant nutrition and yet provide immediate plant availability as well. This will give the plant a “jump start” in growth. The nitrogen addition will replace certain amounts of potassium and potash, rendering the potash removed to be water soluble which will then be held in the zeolite, readily available to the plant. As noted previously, Zeolite provides a large advantage to the consumer as it contains 3.4% Potassium which is held in the crystalline structure where it is plant available but not water-soluble, therefore no expensive addition of potassium is required. The final product will provide a perfect balance of nitrogen and potash for turf growth.

For existing courses, core the greens and remove the cores. Then top dress with 300lbs of Safetysorb™ Zeolite per 1,000 square feet and drag the green to fill the holes. The green color of Safetysorb™ Zeolite will turn dark when wet and beautifies your greens.
